(rif. a mezzi di trasporto) arrêté: il treno è fermo in stazione le train est arrêté en gare; la macchina è ferma al semaforo la voiture est arrêtée au feu. 3. (non in funzione) arrêté: la fabbrica è ferma l'usine est arrêtée, l'usine est fermée. 4. (scarico) arrêté: il mio orologio è fermo ma montre est arrêtée. 5. (saldo) ferme: voce ferma voix ferme; carattere fermo caractère ferme; avere la mano ferma avoir la main ferme; avere il polso fermo avoir le poignet ferme. 6. (stagnante) stagnant, dormant: acqua ferma eau stagnante; aria ferma air lourd. 7. (fig) (perseverante) ferme: è fermo nel suo rifiuto il est ferme dans son refus. 8. (fig) (risoluto, deciso) ferme: rispose in tono fermo il répondit sur un ton ferme. 9. (fig) (sicuro, stabilito) ferme: è nostra ferma volontà continuare l'impresa c'est notre ferme volonté de continuer cette entreprise; ho la ferma intenzione di andare j'ai la ferme intention d'y aller. 10. (fig) (che non fa progressi) à l'arrêt, arrêté: il progetto è fermo le projet est à l'arrêt; gli affari sono fermi les affaires sont au point mort; la produzione è ferma la production est arrêtée. 11. (Econ) (che languisce) ferme, languissant: il commercio è fermo le commerce est ferme. 12. (esclam.) stop!, arrête-toi!, arrêtez-vous! II. s.m. 1. (congegno per fermare) arrêt: mettere un fermo a una porta mettre un arrêt à une porte. 2. (di imposte e sim.) clenche f., fermoir; (della baionetta) arrêt. 3.
